Long-standing & recurring back pain · Bhopal

It got better. Then work got busy. Then it came back.

Physiotherapy at home for back pain that has lasted months, or keeps returning. Sessions are arranged around your working day , because the reason these programmes fail is almost never the exercises. It's the 4pm appointment.

Evenings, not office hours

Does this sound familiar?

You've been here before, once or twice a year.

  • Stiff for the first hour, then fine, then bad again by evening.
  • Sitting through a long meeting is the hardest part of the day.
  • You know the exercises. You stopped doing them in week five.
  • Bending to tie your shoes has become a small calculation.
  • The scan said wear and tear, and nobody explained what that meant.
  • It settles every time, and every time it comes back.

Why the cycle repeats

It improves first, and that's exactly when the sessions start slipping.

Almost nobody decides to stop physiotherapy. They miss one week, then another.

  1. Feeling better is the risk point

Three good weeks and the appointment becomes the thing that moves when work gets busy. The pain has gone; the weakness that caused it has not.

  2. Nobody has leave to spare

Two afternoons a week for three months is a real cost. Most people quietly decide it isn't worth it long before they'd say so out loud.

  3. Exercises drift, unwatched

Done from memory a few weeks later, they're rarely quite what was prescribed, and nobody sees the drift until the pain returns.

What the treatment involves

Making the back stronger than the day asks it to be.

  • Trunk and hip strength

Measured in kilograms rather than assumed, so we can see whether it is actually building, and whether it slips when you get busy.

  • How you move through the day

Bending, lifting, sitting and standing up: retrained so your back stops bracing against movements it doesn't need to fear.

  • Getting your capacity back

Building up to the things you've been avoiding, at a pace that doesn't set you off, because avoidance is often what keeps the cycle running.

  • Relief between sessions

Electrotherapy on the device, set by your physiotherapist, to take the edge off enough that you can do the work that actually changes things.

Passive treatment alone rarely fixes long-standing back pain. Heat, machines and hands-on work can make you more comfortable, and they matter, but the part that changes the pattern is the strength and movement work. We will be straight with you about that.

What to expect

Better in weeks. Different in months.

  1. Weeks 1–4

    Settle it down

Baseline measured. Symptoms brought under control enough to move properly, and the movements that keep provoking it identified.

  2. Months 2–4

    Build the strength

The part almost everyone abandons. Visits reduce, supervised sessions carry the load, and the numbers show whether it's actually building.

  3. Onward

    Keep it

A smaller number of supervised sessions to hold what you built, with a reassessment every three months. This is the step that breaks the cycle.

Most people feel a difference well before the strength work is finished. That gap is where the relapse cycle lives, and it is the part this model is built for.

Fitting around work

No leave. No travelling. No 4pm appointment.

The physiotherapist comes to your home, and the supervised sessions in between are scheduled where your day has room. Nothing about this requires you to leave the office early.

The appointment stops being the thing that gets cancelled.

Session 7:00 AM
Your working day Untouched
Session 8:30 PM

Home visits are booked at times you choose, including evenings and weekends where the schedule allows. Supervised sessions on the other days take about twenty minutes.

Who would look after you

One physiotherapist, from the first week to the last.

A senior physiotherapist assesses you at home, writes the plan and reviews it every four weeks. Our clinicians are employed by us, not introduced to you. If it isn't working, tell us and we will change it.

Meet the team

Before you enquire

This isn't right for everyone, and we'll say so.

Usually a good fit

  • Back pain lasting more than three months
  • Pain that settles and returns every few months
  • Long hours sitting, or lifting at work
  • Tried physiotherapy before and stopped partway
  • Cleared by a doctor, with nothing serious found

See a doctor first

  • Back pain after a fall or an accident
  • Fever, unexplained weight loss, or a history of cancer
  • Weakness in a leg that is getting worse
  • Pain that keeps waking you from sleep every night

The things people ring up about.

Often less than you'd expect. Disc bulges and degenerative changes turn up commonly on scans of people with no pain at all, and they become more common with age. That doesn't mean your pain isn't real. It means the scan on its own rarely explains it. Your physiotherapist will look at how you move and what you can and can't do, alongside the report, not instead of it.
